  Ignorance of Watchtower doctrine among young JW's

  i've been having a conversation with a young jw on twitter and have, once again, come up against beliefs that do not match up with official watchtower doctrine.

  if you like you can read the full thread here (you'll need to click on some comments to open it all up).. anyway the upshot is that this jw, and many like her, believe that only truly wicked people will be killed at armageddon - not innocent babies and children or anyone who "didn't know better" perhaps because they didn't get a witness.

  it's as though they cannot accept the obvious injustice of jehovah's morality.. this jw teenager believes that all these non-jw's who survive armageddon will get their chance to prove their loyalty during the 1000 year reign of christ - again, not a watchtower teaching.. i don't really have a question to ask, this is just an observation.

  I'm going to resist the obvious open-goal and go to bed.

  Yes, go on, say it, say that our culture has changed drastically in the years since then. Make the claim that looting is no longer a thing. And that Britain is now an ultra-tolerant place. Yes, our culture has changed since then, but the problems with it have not gone away. And maybe some new ideas from other cultures might actually do us some good.

  If you're content to see Brits become a minority in the UK then you have no regard for the preservation of British culture.

  No, I just accept that immigrants have the ability to become Brits, given time, and integration, and that culture changes through time.

  Multiculturalism is a failed project.

  We'll see. It's not over yet.

  It's a bit sad that you would disparage one of the greatest examples of the British spirit.

  it's not just racist right wingers who care what colour people are.
  Plenty on the left obsess over race.
  Perhaps we should do away with the Black Police Association. Operation Trident can go, too.
  Ditto race hate crime legislation.
  Ditto government funding that helps members of a certain ethnic group.
  I'm sure you get the picture ...

  Bottom line is you have no regard for British culture and that is why you reacted negatively to comments that opposed mass immigration.

  No regard? Wrong. I have issues with it. It is very 'preach but don't practice', I do believe that. But that is not the same as having no regard.

  I never reacted negatively to comments that opposed mass immigration, I myself (for the hundredth time) oppose uncontrolled immigration. I reacted negatively to comments about a non-white majority. And as promised, now that you've put words in my mouth again, I am done for tonight.

  Your dislike of British culture is masquerading as a virtue.

  So if I said all Pakistanis were misogynist that wouldn't be racist because Pakistan is a nation not a race. Got it.

  If you said Pakistanis were generally misogynist and you had a good reason to assert that then what possible issue could I take with it?

  Again though, nitpicking.

  But would it be bigoted or prejudiced though?

  You critique what people write as if you're peer reviewing an academic paper. Sometimes, I use rhetoric. Sorry, in future I'll write entirely in statistics and Harvard reference my sources for you.

  I gave examples of how we don't live up to our own standards. Deal with the point, don't nitpick details.

  To say any race is monolithically anything is the very definition of racism.

  It was a piece of poetic rhetoric based on prior use of the word monolithically, do you even understand what I mean by that?

  And no, it's not racist, because the British are a nation, not a race.

  If I'd said whites were, then it would be. The British have a culture, whites don't.
